Car using ThermHex lignin honeycomb sandwich panels wins Design award

At the annual Shell Eco-marathon Europe (this year held in Rotterdam) the Design award in the Urban Concept category was won by a group of German students of the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthoch hochschule Halle. Their EcoEmotion-team developed an electric car with a unique shape and engineering. For the outer shell of the car, ThermHex lignin honeycomb sandwich panels were used (see picture below).
